Cassady Schiller Cares

On July 19, 2012 the employees of Cassady Schiller were invited to join together and participate in the first Cassady Schiller Cares Day.

Cassady Schiller Cares, a group of employees formed in June of 2012, met and discussed ways that Cassady Schiller could give back to our community with our time and talents. At this meeting it was determined that the first ever Cassady Schiller Cares give back day would be at Matthew 25 Ministries in Blue Ash, Ohio.

Matthew 25 Ministries is an international relief-aid organization head-quartered just north of the Cassady Schiller offices. Over 25 employees and their children signed up, donned blue t-shirts and stormed the Matthew 25 Ministries offices to provide help in whatever capacity we could.

At Matthew 25 Ministries the employees were divided into two groups. The first group packed personal care packages for shipment to areas in need. These packages included toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo and soap.

The second group was a bit more colorful you could say. Led to the back of the warehouse, the second group of volunteers was charged with sorting paint. This group of volunteers would shake, stir and sort the paint into giant bins by primary color. These bins would then be mixed and poured into 5 gallon buckets and then shipped to Haiti for their use in home buildings.

The afternoon was filled with laughter and camaraderie for the employees of Cassady Schiller. At the end of the day, we were all a little hot, some of us covered in paint and all filled with the feeling of gratefulness that we were able to give back and help those who needed it the most.
